CEO, Technical Director

Why work planning?

Careful job planning means that tasks are phased in and scheduled in the best and most efficient way possible.

As a result, the work will be carried out:

  • safely
  • high-quality
  • schedule.

Good work planning improves safety, quality and efficiency at work. The safest way is almost always also the most efficient in terms of value for money.

The greater the amount of working time that is planned, the more efficiently the work progresses and the less the field has to think about what needs to be done next. This improves the predictability of tasks and the quality of work. As quality improves, it also saves time to correct errors.

In practice, therefore, well-designed working time is spent on the right things.

It is appreciated by supervisors and officers, but also by employees. It also directly impacts turnaround times and profitability.

Investing in job planning is an investment in business profitability

Efficiency is also reflected in the company’s result. The more repetitive, and the more employable, these tasks are, the greater the time savings in job planning can be achieved.

Work planning is also reflected in well-being and well-being at work. Most employees want to feel important and spend as much of their working day doing productive work.

Better job satisfaction, on the other hand, increases work efficiency, which in turn is ultimately reflected in the company’s cash flow as a positive result.

What if you don’t invest in work planning?

If work planning is not done properly, the lion’s share of working days is typically spent on the wrong things. Worst of all, work tasks have to be invented by ourselves.

It is also typical for tasks to be overloaded and for employees to have to wait until the previous steps have been completed for indefinite periods before they can take action themselves.

However, if you are in a hurry and still try to advance your tasks, you may experience quality problems when you have to work under unfavorable conditions, with or without the necessary preparation.

At worst, everyone comes up with their own ways of working on the fly, schedules are what happens and quality is what happens at the time. Such is the case from any angle, but only rarely is it the fault of the worker.

In the worst case scenario, staff begins to become inactive because work seems to be cramped, and monitoring of a confused work environment usually does not work. Then labor productivity will decline.

Work planning facilitates collaboration inside and outside the company

Well-done work planning improves predictability, making it easier for the company to schedule internally and externally. This improves the sequencing of tasks and enables so-called “time to time” tasks. In “higher clock frequency” production.

For example, when schedules are more predictable, things can be better agreed in advance with subcontractors. Resourcing of own employees is also easier and waiting times can be predicted. Customers are also happy when deliveries are made on time.

The more elements in the production chain, the more work planning as a whole affects the operations of the company. It is always important.
